The Sun Art gallery is a collaboration between a husband and wife. David and Connie Hwang are the artists behind every piece in the gallery. You’ll walk out of the shop with an original piece of artwork, not duplicated or copied. The artists (and owners) studio is located in the gallery where they paint unique pictures of scenic landscapes. The experience is an impressive one from the moment you step foot in the gallery. Pictures cover every inch of the walls and sculptures fill shelves below the paintings. There are paintings of Tahoe beaches, green landscapes and luscious plant vegetation.
The couple began their business in Los Angeles in 1986 before relocating to Lake Tahoe in 2004. David Hwang uses seven different mediums including: watercolor, pastel, oil, acrylic, wood block print, silkscreen and photography. Connie Hwang experiments with six mediums: acrylic, watercolor, monotype, collage, pastel and mixed media. Together, they fill a gallery with exceptional paintings that can only be found here.
